NICKI MINAJ HAS A HIT SINGLE IN 2021 WITHOUT DROPPING NEW MUSIC

Besides a handful of guest features in 2020 and 2019, Nicki Minaj hasn’t dropped any solo music since her last studio album Queen in 2018. Nicki is currently semi-retired as she’s focused on her family and raising her newborn son with husband Kenneth Petty.

But even if she’s out of the game at the moment, Nicki’s presence is so strong that she can still grab a hit single even when she’s not active. On Thursday night (May 7), Nick Minaj’s loyal Barbz fan base unexpectedly helped the “Moment 4 Life” rapper grab another hit in her storied discography.

The Barbz got together and launched the “LLC Party” on Twitter which was intended to motivate Nicki to release new music and show her fans have the utmost loyalty to her. Eventually “LLC Party” became the No. 1 trending topic in the United States and worldwide with over 133,000 tweets. Doja Cat even got in on the fun telling people to stream the song on her Instagram Story.

There was so much happening with the event that the song it’s based on, “LLC,” off Nicki’s fourth studio album Queen, became the rapper’s best performing single of 2021 in a little over eight hours. In addition to that surprising accolade, the song also entered the Top 40 of the iTunes US Chart for the first time since its release three years ago.

Nicki’s absence has fans scrambling to get something new from her. During an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Mal, Rory and Joe Budden were discussing whether DJ Khaled’s Khaled Khaled was a hit or miss. Somehow, Nicki got thrown into the conversation which led Mal to mention the time is now for Nicki to drop an album. Budden wasted no time saying that was a terrible idea though.

“Did you not just hear everything we said about Khaled dropping during COVID,” Budden asked Mal. “You want Nicki to drop right now? Nicki, I love you, I wish you and your family well, and that’s what I got.”

Budden feels if Nicki were to drop an album now like Khaled, the timing wouldn’t be right for her. But despite how Budden feels, though, the fans have spoken. They want to hear something new from the leader of the Barbz
